                                                Sigiriya rock is most famous place in sri lanka . According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the  culawansa , this area was a large forest, then after storms and landslides it became a hill and was selected by King   Kashyapa    for his new capital. He built his palace on top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful   frescoes . On a small plateau about halfway up the side of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure. The capital and the royal palace were abandoned after the king's death. It was used as a Buddhist  monastery until the 14th century.  My Favourite Musician My favourite musician is  Hariprasad Chaurasia. He  is an Indian  music director  and classical flautist,  in the  Hindustani classical tradition  who plays the  bansuri .  He was born on 1st of  July in 1938 at    Allahabad  in the Indian state of  Uttar Pradesh .  A t the age of 15  Chaurasia started learning vocal music from his neighbour, Rajaram. Later, he switched to playing the flute under the tutelage of  Bholanath Prasanna  of  Varanasi  for eight years. Kottu is famous food in sri lanka.Kottu is available in different varieties.It are Egg kottu,chicken kottu,dolfin kottu,cheese kottu,beef koththu,bite kottu,mix kottu,Ice creem kottu etc. It is made up of  paratha   or  godamba roti , which is cut into small pieces or ribbons.  Then on a heated iron sheet or griddle, vegetables and onions are fried.
